The verdict
Mixing: whisk vs wall
BlenderBottle's page calls it a "powerful mixing system" built on the "BlenderBall wire whisk" with a "rounded base" — a stainless coil that moves through the liquid as you shake and breaks powder mechanically. YETI's page calls the Yonder's mechanism "whisk-free Helimix Technology": "its unique wall design mixes powders smoothly without a whisk or screen", a vortex "using nothing but motion". Both makers claim smooth results; we haven't tested either and say so. The reasonable reading of the designs is that a whisk does work whether or not you shake hard, and a vortex wall does work in proportion to how hard you shake — which is why the whisk edges it on the thickest powders and the wall wins on convenience.
Seal, washing, capacity, warranty
Seal. BlenderBottle: "leakproof" with a "StayOpen flip cap" and no lock. YETI: "100% Leakproof" with a "covered chug spout" and "quick access cap". Both claim it; the YETI's covered spout is the more bag-friendly design, and the Strada's push-button lock is BlenderBottle's answer.
Washing. BlenderBottle: "all pieces (including the BlenderBall) are dishwasher safe", cup and lid top rack, ball in the silverware bin. YETI: "dishwasher safe". Three parts against two.
Capacity. 28 oz against 27 oz (737 ml). Both clear a two-scoop shake with headroom. Both have measurement marks.
Material. BlenderBottle: BPA- and phthalate-free plastic. YETI: BPA-free, "75% recycled plastic" for the bottle. The Strada's Eastman Tritan is the odor-resistant option in this family.
Warranty. BlenderBottle prints a limited lifetime guarantee. YETI's shaker page we could read printed none.
