Mike M. is the hands-on owner behind Iron Mako Media, the independent portfolio of gear sites that Meal & Macro belongs to. He reads the manuals, compiles the published specs, and runs the numbers so the picks here are decided by a rubric you can see — not by a lab we don't have.

What I do on this site
I read the product page and the manual. I copy the maker's exact wording for the lid, the material, the oven rating and the warranty into an evidence table, with a link. I do the arithmetic the maker didn't — whether a 3.5-cup rectangle lies flat in a 4.95-inch cooler, how many cooked cups a 5.5-cup rice cooker makes, what two scoops and twelve ounces add up to in a 20-ounce shaker. I quote the USDA and the FDA for every food-safety number. And I score each product on a rubric for its category that is published in full on the methodology page.
What I don't claim
I haven't packed these containers for a week, timed these ice packs, or shaken these bottles. I hold no nutrition or fitness credential and won't imply one. The site says so on every page, because a reader who assumes otherwise is a reader who has been misled, and because the alternative — a published, checkable method — is something most sites in this category don't offer at all.
