Prepared meal delivery
Prepared meals for the week you have no time to cook
Some weeks the Sunday hour does not exist. These are the delivery services that publish enough about their macros and their prices to be worth a lifter's money — and the arithmetic on what skipping the cooking actually costs.

The macro-friendly meal delivery services, ranked on what they publish
Top pick: Fuel Meals weekly meal plans. The one that prints the numbers a macro tracker needs: a per-meal price range on the page, calories and the protein, carbohydrate and fat split beside every meal on the menu, and four plans built as macro splits rather than diet labels.

Why a meal-delivery section on a meal-prep site
Because the honest answer to "how do I eat on a schedule this week" is not always "cook on Sunday". Some weeks there is no Sunday: three night shifts, a newborn, a move, a deadline. The choice in that week is not between cooking and delivery — it is between delivery and the garage forecourt at 3 a.m., and pretending otherwise would be a worse piece of advice than anything on this page.
So this section covers prepared-meal services the same way the rest of the site covers containers: by reading what the company publishes, quoting it, linking it, and scoring it on a rubric you can read. Every score here rests on published evidence — the protein figure the brand prints, the macros beside each dish, the number of plans, the price it publishes and the terms for stopping it — so every criterion behind a score is something you can check on the brand's own page before you pay.
How the category divides
- Macro-split services — the plan is a ratio, you pick the dishes, and the calories and the protein, carbohydrate and fat are printed beside every item on the menu. This is the shape that suits someone who logs their food, because a delivered week logs exactly like a cooked one. Fuel Meals is the one covered here.
- Protocol services — the plan is a rule, usually keto, paleo, Whole30, vegan or vegetarian, and the kitchen generally chooses the meals. You are buying compliance with a rule rather than control of a number. Trifecta runs eight plans on this model, two of which hand the choosing back to you at a higher weekly price.
- Cooked components — proteins, starches and vegetables delivered separately for you to portion. The halfway house: it still needs a scale and containers, and it is the only delivered format where the grams are yours to set. It sits inside Trifecta's top tier rather than being a category of its own.
What actually decides it
Four things, in this order, and they are the four criteria on the published rubric for this section.
What the brand publishes about the macros. A per-meal figure beside each dish is worth more than a catalogue-wide range, because a range of twenty to forty grams of protein is two completely different meals and you cannot tell which one is in the box until it arrives. If you are counting, this is the whole decision.
Protein per meal, as printed. Roughly forty grams a sitting is the line between a lunch and a lifter's meal. One of the two services here publishes a band of forty to sixty; the other publishes "over 20 to 40g". That gap is why they rank in the order they do on the ranked page.
Whether the price can be worked out before checkout. A printed per-meal price is a decision you can make on the page. A weekly plan price with no meal count beside it is not — it has to be resolved inside an order flow, which is a real difference and is scored as one.
How hard it is to stop. These are subscriptions, and the box that costs you money is the fourth one you forgot to skip. A self-serve skip with a published cut-off is a different product from a pause that goes through a support team a week ahead. Find that button on day one, not on the Wednesday you need it.
And the cost, honestly
Delivery is not cheaper than cooking, and no page here is going to arrange the numbers so that it looks it. At U.S. city-average retail prices a chicken, rice and potato box comes to under three dollars of ingredients, and the delivered equivalent sits in a published band three to four times that. The full arithmetic — every unit price sourced to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, every portion stated — is on meal delivery vs meal prep cost.
What the difference buys is the hour, the washing up and the shopping trip, and on the right week that is a perfectly sensible purchase. On the wrong week it is two thousand dollars a year for an hour. If the hour is the problem rather than the money, the cheaper fix is usually a faster Sunday and a kit that makes it faster — buy those once, and keep delivery for the weeks that genuinely have no Sunday in them.
