Three ways to eat hot
Conduction case. HOTLOGIC's Mini is an insulated bag with a heating plate in the bottom. You put your own container in, close it, plug it in, and it heats slowly — the maker says about forty minutes before you're ready to eat, with no dials. It heats the container you meal-prepped in, which is the point: nothing to decant, nothing extra to wash. The 12V version runs off a vehicle socket.
Plug-in crock. Crock-Pot's Lunch Crock is a 50 W warmer with a 20-ounce removable inner container that goes in the dishwasher. You transfer the food into it. It warms one portion at a desk with an outlet.
Vacuum jar. No electricity. Preheat the jar with boiling water, tip it out, fill with food straight from the stove. Thermos prints 14 hours hot on the 24 oz Stainless King. The food is as hot as it will ever be at 6 a.m. and cooling slowly all day; a stew that goes in boiling is still hot at a 5 p.m. break.

Do you want to decant?
HOTLOGIC heats your container; the Lunch Crock and the jar are the container. If you pack in Glasslock or Bentgo, HOTLOGIC; measure the container against 8.75 × 6.75 × 2.5 in first.
What food?
Stews, chili, rice-and-chicken, curries: all three. Anything you want crisp: none of them — reheat in an oven or accept soft. Oats or broth to drink: the Hydro Flask.

Plenty of sites say they packed every container on the list for a week. We didn't, and we say so. What we do instead: read the lid, material and care ratings the maker actually publishes and repeat its wording ("leak-proof", "oven safe to 450°F", "top-rack only"), do the container-fit and ice-pack arithmetic from published dimensions and the USDA's numbers, and score every pick on a public rubric for its category that weights the seal, the material and the fit first. Every figure links to where it came from; where the maker's page would not load we cite a retailer and say so.

HOTLOGIC says about forty minutes on its 45 W plate. Crock-Pot doesn't print a time for the 50 W Lunch Crock on the page we read. Plug in at the break before you eat.
Can you put a glass container in a heated lunch box?
HOTLOGIC lists plastic, glass, metal or cardboard containers as acceptable, within its size limit.
How do you keep food hot for 12 hours without electricity?
